Stop the press! Question, do you have any idea how special you are? Seriously, do you realize that this great, big world is impacted daily by your very existence?
Sure, you might be a daycare teacher with less than 10 students, the neighborhood garbage man, a secretary, or a member of the choir. No matter how small you think your job may be, it plays a huge part in the grand scheme of things.
Wherever you maybe, take a look in the mirror, and smile. I’m sure that made you feel a lot better. Just as your own smile brightened up your spirit, imagine how many spirits you brighten a day just by smiling.
Now take it a step further. Tell yourself three positive things. Having a hard time? Try these. Repeat after me. I am amazing. I am unique. I am everything I was created to be.
How does that feel? If you have to repeat it a few times for it to sink in, then go right ahead. The bottom line is, we all need to be reminded of how special we are. This thing called life can weigh us down. Why, with bills, children, loved ones, goals, family, and our jobs, it’s easy to get down or become depressed. In moments like these, we must remember that we are a life force to others. We must be conscious that our actions influence the lives of so many.
The cashier you see every morning at Starbucks, she waits every day to see your smile and nice manners. It’s just what she needs to start her day. The children you wave to each morning on your way to work, love to see you because you remind them that not all adults are big, mean people. Your boss waits patiently every morning to watch you walk joyously and confidently through the door because you remind him to be proud and grateful. Don’t let these people down. They need you.
You are a rare breed. You were created to be special in this world. It does not matter where you come from, the color of your skin, or your education level. You are amazing. As you go through your day, remember to share a smile, a kind word, or help someone in need. Above all, our mission is to share love and good will. Don’t allow your circumstances, no matter what they are, to dictate how you feel about yourself. Sure, you will get down from time to time, but remember how unique you are. After God created you, he threw the mold away! Your talents, your smile, and your presence is different from anyone else in this big world.
So what are you waiting for? Get out of that bed. Get out of the car. Get out of that blue funk! Get yourself together and walk proudly in your purpose. The fact that you are reading this blog is not by accident. God meant for you to see this. Don’t let it go to waste. You are amazing. So go forth, with your amazing, terrific, talented, and awesome self! The world is waiting.
